Best Gifts for Travelers

Due to the holiday season nearing, I have been asked a lot by friends and family about good gifts to give someone that travels frequently. With a lot of upcoming trips planned for 2018 in mind, I sat down and brainstormed some ideas on what I find would be great things to gift a traveler!

Books can be tricky. If you feel like you know the person well enough to get something they’ll find interesting then go for it! Nothing is better than having a book on you during a 10 hour flight or reading while laying on the beach.

My favorite books: Crazy Rich Asians, The Devil Wears Prada, Bossypants

Books that will give you wanderlust: Eat Pray Love, Under the Tuscan Sun, The Alchemist, The DaVinci Code series, The Art of Travel

Scratch the World ($35.95)

I actually just received this from my mom and I love it! This map which hangs on your wall allows you to scratch off countries when you have visited them. It’s an awesome way to visually look at all the places you’ve been.

Carry on Cocktail Kit ($24)

This is the best gift for someone that likes to do a bit of self medicating when they fly. This kit which you can bring on your flight includes everything to make two drinks. They have an old fashioned, gin and tonic, margarita and more!

Travel Size Perfume/Cologne

I love receiving perfume as a gift in general so it’s even better when I can bring it on my carry on. I highly recommend getting something from Le Labo. Their scents are unisex as well as very fragrant so you don’t need to use a lot. My two favorites are Rose 31 and Santal 33.

Eye Mask/ Blanket/ Neck Pillow

Anything that helps someone stay comfortable on their journey will be well liked. Get one, two or all three and I assure you that the person receiving the gift will love it.

Silk eye mask ($45)-

More inexpensive option ($10)

Great travel blanket ($12.99)

Neck Pillow ($19.99)

Journaling is an awesome way to be able to go back and read about your adventures. Giving the gift of a notebook will allow someone to do just that. I have found that my journal preference leans towards the Moleskine brand.

Whether it be going to New York for a long weekend or trekking across Europe, every traveler would love to receive a backpack. Backpacking backpacks are amazing with the amount of stuff that they hold as well as their incredible durability. If you wanna gift a backpack to a loved one I highly recommend an Osprey backpack. Mine has now been lugged all over the world and I never wanna stop using it.

High quality headphones are a great gift because anybody can appreciate the ability to listen to their music and cancel out the noise around them. When buying super high quality headphone, I would go with Bose or Beats. A more economical option would be Skullcandy earbuds.

It’s a traveler’s nightmare to get to another country and not be able to charge their electronics after getting settled in. An adapter is a great and practical gift. I would buy one that has the outlets for multiple countries to get the most use out of it.

Here is the one I use ($12.99)-

Passport Holder

I always have my passport in a passport holder. They make finding your passport in your bag 100 times easier, protect your passport as well as add a little fashion to your travels. I use a Kate Spade holder since they have pockets on the sides that I can also store my plane ticket in.

Coloring Book- $14.95

When I worked at an art store I found a coloring book with the most popular buildings around the world. This is such a unique gift and will for sure occupy your traveling friend for hours and they can annoyingly point out all of the places they’ve been.

Try the World ($19.00-$39.00)

Try the World is a monthly subscription where they will send you a box of food, snacks, ingredients, drinks and more from around the world. This is a phenomenal gift to send to the person that loves to travel but has to stay in one place for a while.

See anything on here that you wanna buy? Let me know in the comments and thanks for reading!
